Why Aviation Software Needed a Rethink — and How ERP.Aero Is Leading the Shift

When a Simple Interview Turns Into a Reflection Moment

Every once in a while, something small makes you pause - and reminds you how far things have come.

A little while ago, I got an email from Shauli Zacks, content editor at SafetyDetectives, asking if I’d be open to a short interview about ERP.aero, how it started, what we’ve learned, and where aviation tech is heading.

It wasn’t a big production. Just six thoughtful questions. But somewhere between the first draft and the final edit, it turned into a great moment of reflection, not just about what ERP.aero does, but about why it exists.

💬 The Conversation

We talked about everything from architecture and data integrity to AI and quoting speed - all the things that sound “technical” until you realize how deeply they affect real people in aviation.

Because under every RFQ, every compliance check, every repair job, there’s a person trying to do their job better. That’s really what this platform was built for; To take the friction out of everyday work and give teams clarity, speed, and control.

What stood out most about the process with Shauli was how genuine it was. No buzzwords, no scripts, just a real back-and-forth about what’s working, what’s changing, and how companies like ours fit into that shift.

💡 Why It Matters

I don't know if you can relate but every time we get to tell our story, we discover new parts of it. And the more we share, the more we realize that our customers’ stories are what truly define ERP.aero .

That’s why we’re opening up more conversations like this, not to promote, but to connect. Because the insights, the lessons, and the small wins you all share with us every day are what make this ecosystem stronger.

And if you’ve got a story of your own, a process that clicked, a win you’re proud of, or something you’ve learned, maybe from using ERP.aero - share it in the ERP.Aero Community. And if you're open to it, I'd love to feature you on our next podcast episode.

Those are the stories that move aviation forward.

Control vs Clarity

The Hidden Cost of Clarity TL;DR True clarity doesn’t come from control, it comes from architecture. The moment you stop chasing visibility through effort and start engineering it through systems, everything changes. You’ll see your inefficiencies, your blind spots, and your truth - but that’s the point. Because real clarity doesn’t confirm comfort. It creates alignment. The Illusion of Control In aviation, we like to believe control equals clarity. The more we see, the more we manage. But...

Why AI Isn’t Replacing Us Anytime Soon

Why AI Isn’t Replacing Us Anytime Soon ↓ TL;DR – Here’s the story I’m unpacking: I read about these numbers in an email I got today and decided to dig deeper. The more I researched, the more interesting the picture became. So I’m sharing what I found here - not as hype, but as a snapshot of where AI adoption really stands right now, and why the story isn’t as simple as “it’s taking over everything." Big companies are already hitting the brakes on AI. For the first time, adoption among large...

Intelligent Quoting OS

Aviation Intelligence: Why Dashboards Weren’t the Answer Why dashboards and lagging reports aren’t real intelligence — and what it takes for aviation to finally think in real time. Schedule your insider's look TL;DR Most “aviation intelligence” today lives in dashboards, automated (conditional) functions, and lagging reports - fine for summaries, but useless when decisions need to be made in the moment. Most don’t need trivia after the fact. They need intelligence embedded directly into the...
